As part of the Department of Defense, JAMRS engages in cooperative and interdependent partnerships with various government agencies:

Department of Defense (DoD)

Accountable to the President of the United States and to Congress, the DoD's Service branches are responsible for national defense.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS)

Accountable to the President of the United States and to Congress, DHS focuses on protecting the American people and their homeland. The U.S. Coast Guard is one of the five armed forces of the United States and the only military organization within the Department of Homeland Security. The Coast Guard protects the maritime economy and the environment, defends our maritime borders, and saves those in peril.

Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)

OSD is responsible for policy development, planning, resource management, fiscal and program evaluation responsibilities, including JAMRS.

USD Office of the Under Secretary for Personnel and Readiness (USD P&R)

The USD P&R is a Presidential appointee confirmed by the Senate. He/she is the Secretary's senior policy advisor on recruitment, career development, pay, and benefits for 1.4 million active-duty military personnel, 1.3 million Guard and Reserve personnel, and 680,000 DoD civilians, and is responsible for overseeing the state of military readiness.

Defense Human Resources Activity (DHRA)

DHRA is a DoD Field Activity chartered to support USD P&R. The scope of DHRA's mission is very broad, giving the USD flexibility to explore and field new technologies and programs that benefit warfighters and their family members, as well as DoD civilians. DHRA programs impact the delivery of benefits, readiness, force protection, and the detection and elimination of fraud. DHRA provides support and services that improve the efficiency, productivity, and quality of life throughout the Department.

Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC)

DMDC serves under the Office of the Secretary of Defense to collate personnel, manpower, training, financial, and other data for the Department of Defense. This data catalogues the history of personnel in the Military and their families for purposes of health care, retirement funding, and other administrative needs.

Employee Support for the Guard and Reserve (ESGR)

ESGR is responsible for promoting both public and private understanding of the National Guard and Reserve in order to gain U.S. employer and community support through programs and personnel policies and practices that shall encourage employee and citizen participation in National Guard and Reserve programs.

Accession Policy (AP)

AP is responsible for policy, planning, and program review of active and reserve personnel procurement and processing. AP develops, reviews, and analyzes policies, resource levels, and budgets for enlisted recruiting and officer commissioning programs.

Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) Career Exploration Program (CEP)

ASVAB CEP provides tools developed by the Department of Defense to help high school and post-secondary students across the nation learn more about career exploration and planning.
